Delivery Focused
Brainville, Inc. approaches projects as a
series of interlinked tasks, each of which results in a deliverable.
This provides us with the basis for developing meaningful metrics on
progress, of individual team members, and of the team itself.
By focusing on the importance of deliverables, we are able to motivate
the team members by demonstrating that their individual contributions are an
important part of the whole and to their own personal success.
By "delivery focused" we mean we focus on
results, not the activities to produce the results.
Progress through the activities provides input to meeting the schedule,
but quality deliverables, at each stage, lead to a successful project.
A high quality delivery focus permeates the
project plan and is the basis for measurable progress.
Deliverables that are substandard can cause downstream problems that, as
the project progresses, become much more costly to fix. Our
approach begins with the requirements—a stated requirement is not complete
unless a deliverable is associated with it and the quality of the deliverable
can be measured to ensure acceptance meets all of the requirements.
Brainville, Inc. structures project plans and team activities to contain well
defined, measurable results each representing a mini-milestone.
By continually analyzing the processes that generate the deliverables, we
are able to adjust and fine tune the schedule. We
continually analyze the project plan for
milestones that are met or not. In both cases, the information
is used to refine the schedule. This
results in a more realistic, attainable schedule.
